Mid-century chairs love

Hi all,

Hope you're all well and got to enjoy a nice Easter break.

I haven't had the chance to do much renovation/DIY projects lately as things have been pretty busy at work.
We're just finishing a show and starting a new one, so I've had a nice share of paperwork to go through and keep me out of mischief.
However, I still found the time to scoop two 'new' mid-century armchairs from Ebay.

As we know good, sturdy and affordable mid-century furniture doesn't come by easily.

I've been on the look out for a set of easy chairs for a while but have been shocked by the price these babies tend to go for on Ebay and Gumtree.

A few weeks ago luck struck on my side and the two beauties below came on Ebay at a price I could finally afford!
I crossed my fingers hoping that I wouldn't face a bidding war and won them! I have to admit that being the only bidder did help!

Below are the chairs as pictured on Ebay:

I still need to get the cushions upholstered of course, as green is really not my colour (don't get fooled by the plants. They and the books must be ones of the few green items I own).

Since I can't decide on the fabric colour or material, a trip to a few fabric shops in East or Central London is required in the coming weeks!

For any mid-century furniture lovers who are on a tight budget like me, I find the Ekenaset chair from Ikea a very good alternative to a second-hand easy chair.
This classic and modern design only costs £150 and is available in a neutral colour.

I tried the chair myself at my local Ikea and it was confortable, sturdy and had a  timeless look.

Do any of you have the Ekenaset chair? What do you think of it?
